What Lumen processes
When you explicitly follow a folder, Lumen may read images and local file metadata in that folder to display thumbnails and build local understanding. Depending on available local capabilities, that understanding can include OCR, fingerprints, colors, provenance, traits, and visual embeddings.
This information is stored in Lumen's local data on your Mac so the app can search and organize the folders you chose. It is not a remote account record.
What Lumen does not do
- Lumen does not require an account.
- Lumen does not upload your images, filenames, paths, tags, OCR, thumbnails, or embeddings to a cloud service.
- Lumen does not use analytics to profile your local image work.
- Lumen does not silently edit, move, rename, or delete originals.
Local model packs
Optional model packs are local data. Lumen verifies a selected local pack before installing or using it. The current product direction does not add automatic network model downloads.
Your control
You choose which folders Lumen can follow. You can remove Lumen's derived data without deleting originals. File lifecycle actions require an explicit user command and revalidate the current source before mutation.
